Problem
How can one take a complex B2B SaaS product and explain it in a way that is clear, concise, and enjoyable? Plus, I needed to do it on a budget, using the resources I had, and without needing an external agency. And to top it off, I needed to deliver it within two days!
Solution
A stop motion video ad was created completely in-house using the stop motion technique. It was made in a way that even a layman can understand what the company does. The element of motion and the wow factor involved in the movements keeps the audience engaged till the end and cuts across various demographics to convey the message of what the company does.
Process
I always like to start by asking the question, “Why?”.
I got the team together to brainstorm an idea for simplifying the messaging of what the company does.
This simplification was further transformed into a storyline and it was storyboarded.
The best way to achieve an element of delight without using graphics was to take the stop-motion route. It was painstaking but had to be done.
The cameras & the lights were secured on the ceiling using a king-pole, it was a tight fit but we managed to do it.
I chose to shoot at night so that there was no disturbance in the office and also for the fact that sunlight doesn’t mess with the exposure of the frames.
Each frame was meticulously planned and executed. In total I shot around 2000+ frames which were then stitched to create the final video.
It took a whole lot of movement and backbreaking to ensure we got the shot.
When you get the team exicted about a project and get them invloved you can achieve great feats and create some wonderful things in the process.
